Cisco Launch Unified Communications 7.0
Thu, 18 September 2008
Cisco Systems have launched Unified Communications System Release 7.0, a major update to the entire Unified Communications product suite.
Cisco Unified Communications System Release 7.0 enables an organization to create adaptive workspaces that build productivity, business agility, security, and competitive advantage. With this latest release Cisco has focused on three key customer priorities:
- Opening the network - by enabling seamless interoperability and deep integration with third-party solutions. For example, Cisco now provides B2B federation support for Microsoft Office Communications Server and Cisco Unified Communications plug-ins for IBM Lotus Sametime.
- Enhancing the user experience - by extending new productivity-building features and widgets that provide comprehensive unified communications and collaboration capabilities in every workspace within and outside of the organization.
- Improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) - by increasing security and scalability for messaging, presence, and conferencing, and by optimizing network management through an easy-to-use appliance deployment environment.
Unified Communications System Release 7.0 includes updates to the following key components:
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 7.0
- Cisco Unified Communications Express 7.0
- Cisco Unified Unity 7.0
